John H. Tomko

Born: December 25, 1920
Killed in Action: April 14, 1945 while serving near Kassel in the Harz Mountains of Germany.

U.S. Army
Rank: Second Lieutenant
18th Infantry Regiment 1st Infantry Division

Lt. Tomko was awarded the Silver Star posthumously and the Purple Heart.

Lt. Tomko was survived by his father, Mr. Joseph Tomko, three sisters, Ruth Tomko, Jennie Tomko and Mrs. Vera Chezik, and one brother, Andrew J. Tomko.

Interment: Tomko Homeplace Cemetery, Disputanta, Virginia
